Summary

We are representing a reputable company seeking a skilled Workshop Controller to join their team in Preston.

The successful Workshop Controller will oversee the operation of an 18-bay workshop specialising in light commercial vehicles (LCV) and heavy goods vehicles (HGV). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to enhance their career within a respected organisation in the commercial vehicle sector.

- Stable working hours, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

- Core hours between 8 am and 6 pm, with Saturday rota (8 am to 12 pm)

Duties:

- Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure smooth workflow

- Coordinate and supervise servicing and repairs of commercial vehicles, specialising in LCV and HGV

- Manage a team of technicians and service advisers to ensure high-quality service delivery

- Maintain high standards of customer service and technician productivity

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop

- Handle customer enquiries and facilitate effective communication between clients and workshop staff

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Workshop Controller within a commercial vehicle environment

- Strong understanding of LCV and HGV servicing and repair processes

- Excellent leadership, organisational, and motivational skills

- Strong communication abilities with a customer-focused approach

- Ability to manage a team effectively and uphold high standards of quality and safety
