About the Team
The Autism Information, Guidance and Connections team provides trusted autism information, personalised guidance and signposting, peer support opportunities, and digital services to help autistic people, their families and support networks find the right support, make informed decisions, feel more connected, and live fulfilled lives on their own terms.
About the Role
You will play a key frontline role, supporting autistic people and their families to access high quality, bespoke support through the Autism Support Plus programme.
You will manage referrals, provide accurate and timely guidance and signposting, and work collaboratively across teams and with partner organisations to ensure people receive the right support at the right time.
This role contributes to improving outcomes for autistic people by combining person-centred support, high-quality guidance and signposting, and continuous service improvement.
While Autism Support Plus will be the focus of the role, the postholder may also contribute to other relevant guidance, signposting, digital or service development activities in response to service needs for the Autism, Information, Guidance and Connections team.
What You'll Do
- Manage and respond to Autism Support Plus referrals within agreed timescales, delivering high-quality, personalised guidance and signposting by telephone and email, and contributing to related support channels where required.
- Accurately record all interactions to support data, insight, and reporting.
- Identify and act on safeguarding concerns in line with National Autistic Society policy.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication skills and experience of providing high-quality guidance and signposting, managing complex or sensitive enquiries, maintaining appropriate service boundaries and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- A good understanding of autism and the issues autistic people may face, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing demands effectively.

This is a one-year fixed-term position for 35 hours per week. We may consider applications from people who can work at least 28 hours per week.
This role is primarily home-based, with occasional travel. The working pattern is flexible, typically within core weekday hours, with some evening or weekend work as required.
