Summary
Stanwell Fields CE Primary School is seeking an experience and friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive team.This is an opportunity for an experienced kitchen assistance who enjoys working with children, families and colleagues in a busy school environment. Working as part of the kitchen team, you will contribute to the provision of high-quality, nutritious school meals in a safe, clean and welcoming environment and support a positive dining experience for pupils and promote healthy food choices in line with the school’s agreed approach.The RoleWorking under the direction of the Head Chef, the postholder will:• Assist with the presentation, portioning, serving and distribution of meals to pupils, staff and visitors. • Support the set-up and clearing of food-service areas before and after each service. • Follow agreed instructions for pupils with allergies, medical diets, religious diets or other dietary requirements, and refer any uncertainty immediately to the Head Chef.• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, servery, storage and dining areas in accordance with cleaning schedules and food-safety procedures. • Use kitchen equipment, chemicals and personal protective equipment safely and in accordance with training, manufacturers’ instructions and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health requirements. • Help maintain a welcoming, orderly and safe dining environment for pupils and staff. • Participate in induction, supervision, appraisal, meetings, briefings and training relevant to the role. The postholder will work collaboratively with the Head Chef and wider Senior Leadership Team to support the effective operation of the school kitchen by assisting with food preparation, meal service, cleaning and food-safety procedures.
