Are you a recent graduate or someone looking to take your first step into a career in digital communications, website design, or digital marketing?

The Combined Authority is looking for a motivated and creative Digital Communications Assistant to join its Communications Team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the digital presence of the Combined Authority.

As a Digital Communications Assistant, you will play a key role in the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the Combined Authority's digital platforms. Working closely with communications and digital teams, you will help create engaging, user-friendly web experiences that support organisational priorities and increase public awareness of the work delivered by the Combined Authority. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or aspiring digital professional to gain hands-on experience in website development and content management.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Digital Communications Assistant, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day maintenance and development of the websites.
  • Create and publish engaging content across websites.
  • Help deliver digital communications campaigns aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Repurpose and adapt content for different audiences and digital platforms.
  • Support the optimisation of web pages and landing pages to improve user experience and engagement.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to provide digital communications support and creative input.

What We're Looking For

You will ideally have:

  • Experience updating websites through a Content Management System (CMS), either through work experience, education, volunteering, or personal projects.
  • An understanding of what makes an effective website and landing page.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Creative thinking and visual flair.
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, including members of the public and partner organisations.
