Starting salary of £36,982 rising to £39,677 following competency sign-off.
Due to a major new rail contract worth over 10 years of work, our client is expanding and seeking a welder with MMA Stick experience to join their growing Doncaster operation.
They are looking for qualified individuals with experience from automotive workshops and vehicle service centers through to rail, aerospace, manufacturing and production environments.

Welder duties:
Using MMA Stick skills to carry out welding, repair and refurbishment work on rail vehicle components and assemblies
Weld carbon steel and other engineering materials in line with approved procedures and quality standards.
Repair worn, damaged or defective components, restoring them to operational condition.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to complete tasks accurately
Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, cutting and fit-up activities.
Conduct visual inspections of completed welds, ensuring workmanship meets required standards.
Work closely with fitting, inspection and production teams to achieve operational targets.
Complete job records, quality documentation and traceability paperwork accurately.
Participate in training and competency assessments to develop rail industry knowledge and technical skills.
The successful Welder will:
Ideally be apprentice trained in Welding & Fabrication, holding a Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent). Proof of qualifications will be required.
Have practical MMA Stick welding experience gained within rail, automotive, HGV, military, aerospace, manufacturing, plant, agricultural machinery or similar engineering environments.
Be able to interpret engineering drawings and follow technical work instructions.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Rail experience is not essential. Full product training and competency development will be provided.
Have good literacy (English), numeracy and communication skills.
The benefits for welders:
Starting salary: £32,728 plus 13% shift allowance (£36,982)
Salary after training: £35,113 plus 13% shift allowance (£39,677)
Overtime: Plenty of weekend overtime is available should you choose
Hours: 37.5hrs per week; weekly rotating shifts with early finishes on Fridays
Mornings: 6am-2.15pm Mon to Thurs, finishing at 11.30am on Fridays
Afters: 2pm -10.15pm Mon to Thurs, finishing at 5pm on Fridays
Holidays: 25 plus stats (usually 8)
