Summary

Learning & Development Manager

A high-impact field role for a hands-on L&D professional who can coach leaders across multiple sites, strengthen talent pipelines and turn operational insight into measurable capability improvements.

SALARY: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Candidates need to be based in the South of England. This is a field-based role with regular travel to brand sites/stores (60-70%) across North England, London, Surrey and Berkshire. (Map will be provided at telephone interview stage)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Coaching across multiple locations, with regular early morning, evening and weekend store support as required by the business

This is an opportunity to shape leadership capability across a growing multi-site operation. The Learning & Development Manager works with operational leaders to identify gaps, coach in live trading environments and build leadership readiness.

The Learning & Development Manager supports talent and succession planning, onboarding, workshops, digital learning and new initiatives, using data to focus development activity.

Across stores and stakeholder groups, the Learning & Development Manager helps improve execution, training consistency, operational standards and future-leader readiness.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Learning & Development Manager include:

• Field Coaching and Store Support: Deliver live in-store coaching, structured store visits and targeted interventions, with clear actions and follow-up

• Talent and Succession Development: Support leadership readiness, formal sign-off preparation, talent trackers and succession planning

• Training Delivery and Onboarding: Facilitate workshops, clinics and targeted training, support leader onboarding and drive completion across learning activity

• Digital Learning and Initiatives: Support adoption of learning platforms, new initiatives, launches, operational resets and new store openings

• Performance Monitoring and Insight: Track coaching effectiveness, talent readiness, store visit outcomes and follow-up completion, using insights to identify recurring gaps

• People and Recruitment Support: Monitor recruitment pipelines and adverts, support defined HR training activity and follow up on complaints and training actions

• Planning and Stakeholder Alignment: Manage the training calendar, provide monthly training and people updates, join performance reviews and contribute to planning cycles

• Business Priority Support: Respond to urgent priorities and provide focused coaching in at-risk or underperforming stores

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Experience in a multi-site retail or hospitality leadership environment

• Hands-on Learning & Development experience

• Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership development skills

• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability

• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills

• Data-driven approach with the ability to turn insight into action

• Good commercial and operational awareness

• Full clean UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide

• Full right to work in the UK without restrictions - No sponsorship available

DESIRABLE

• Experience gained within a branded coffee, retail or hospitality environment
