Summary
We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team and provide dedicated support to our Operations functions.
This is a varied and influential role where you will work closely with operational stakeholders, providing the financial insight, analysis and challenge needed to support effective decision-making and drive business performance. You will play an important part in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, optimise costs and support the continued growth of the business.
Alongside traditional finance business partnering, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on how we work. A key focus will be identifying ways to simplify, improve and automate existing finance processes, enabling the team to spend less time on manual activity and more time delivering meaningful insight and value to the business.
If you enjoy working with data, building strong relationships and turning financial information into practical commercial insight, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Key responsibilities
As Finance Business Partner, you will:
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Operations, developing a clear understanding of business challenges, priorities and opportunities.
Provide financial insight, guidance and constructive challenge to support informed commercial and operational decision-making.
Support business leaders in delivering against financial and operational performance targets.
Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities.
Present financial results and insights in a clear and engaging way to both finance and non-finance audiences.
Support budgeting, forecasting, planning and performance analysis activities.
Analyse large and complex datasets to identify meaningful trends and opportunities for the business.
Develop and maintain insightful reports and dashboards, using tools such as Power BI and Tableau where appropriate.
Improve the accessibility and understanding of financial and operational information to encourage data-led decision-making.
Support the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Work with the wider Finance team to maintain strong financial controls and governance.
Support SOX compliance requirements and assist with internal and external audit requests.
Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and reduce financial and operational risk.
Identify and deliver opportunities to automate manual reporting, planning and analytical processes.
Use technology and data tools to improve efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities.
Champion continuous improvement and look for smarter, more effective ways of working.
Support ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who combines strong financial knowledge with a commercial mindset and the confidence to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.
Ideally, you will have:
Part-qualified accountant status, working towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
Significant experience within Finance Business Partnering, FP&A or Commercial Finance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational information and turn it into clear, actionable insight.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make financial information accessible to non-finance stakeholders.
The confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders positively and constructively.
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how finance can support wider business performance.
Experience identifying and delivering process improvements and automation opportunities.
Experience in any of the following would also be advantageous:
Supporting Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics or Operations functions.
Reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Dynamics.
Data and analytics tools including Power Query or SQL.
Financial controls, governance and SOX compliance.
Leading or contributing to cross-functional improvement projects.
Why join us?
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a highly visible Finance Business Partnering role where you can have a genuine impact on both financial and operational performance.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business, using your financial expertise to influence decisions, improve performance and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
There is also plenty of scope to challenge existing ways of working and drive positive change, particularly through process improvement, automation and better use of data. You will be joining a collaborative environment where your ideas, commercial insight and ability to make a difference will be valued.
For someone looking to continue developing their Finance Business Partnering career while gaining broad exposure across Operations, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your experience and make your mark.
We understand there’s no one size fits all approach. We’re proud to offer an inclusive workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported, and empowered to be their true self. If you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate.
Everyone who applies will receive a response.
