An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated leader to join Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership as Adult Care Lead Manager, in Social Work Services.
Reporting to the Head of Adult Social Work and Social Care, you will provide strategic, operational and professional leadership across adult social work and social care services. Working alongside NHS, independent and third sector partners, you will support the delivery of high-quality, integrated services that improve outcomes for adults, carers and communities across Dumfries and Galloway.
As a member of the Social Work Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in service planning, performance management, workforce development and service improvement. You will lead and support teams through change, ensuring services remain person-centred, safe, effective and compliant with statutory and professional requirements.
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with significant management experience in a complex health or social care environment. You will have a proven ability to lead people, manage resources, build effective partnerships and deliver sustainable service improvements.
You must hold a DipSW, CQSW or equivalent Degree-level Social Work qualification and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development is essential and a recognised management or leadership qualification is desirable.

- Extensive knowledge of adult social work legislation and practice.
- Experience of strategic planning and service improvement.
- Effective partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
- Financial and resource management exaperience.
- Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
