Job description
We are looking for a Customer Assistant who will move to a Retailer Apprentice to join our store as part of our Proper Jobs: Fresh Start Programme.

About the Job Role
You’ll start by spending 13 weeks working as a Morrisons Customer Assistant, before progressing to a 12-month apprenticeship in Retailing. If you successfully complete your apprenticeship and assessments, you could then progress to our Sir Ken Morrison Leadership School. This is a six-month programme, which can kickstart your journey into retail management.
Retailing is the home of the Proper Job - and it’s been at the heart of Morrisons since 1899.
After 13 weeks, you’ll move to a Retailer Apprentice, and through the apprenticeship we’ll help you learn about the retail industry, from customer service, to sales, stock management, products, communication, teamwork, and loads more.
We’re looking for friendly individuals to help to provide great customer service in our stores, along with using in-store tech to carry out tasks like stock counts and gap scans - playing a role in keeping our shelves stocked for our customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career and gain qualifications while earning.
Ideal for college or sixth-form leavers seeking their first step into the workplace.
No previous experience required – full training and support will be provided through the apprenticeship programme

After 13 weeks as a Customer Assistant, you’ll enrol as a Retailer Apprentice and:
Complete a level 2 Retailer apprenticeship standard
Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
Get hands-on experience in a job
Study for 6 hours of your working hours
Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
