Summary
We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy refuse collection team working throughout the South Tyneside area.
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely driving a refuse collection vehicle while working alongside a team of refuse loaders. The role involves travelling across residential areas throughout South Tyneside, including navigating and reversing safely through narrow streets and restricted areas.
Responsibilities
Drive a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle safely and responsibly throughout South Tyneside.
Transport a team of refuse loaders across designated residential collection routes.
Safely move and reverse the vehicle through narrow streets and restricted areas.
Complete daily vehicle checks and accurately record any defects.
Ensure the vehicle is operated safely and in accordance with road traffic legislation.
Follow designated collection routes and operational procedures.
Work closely with refuse loaders to ensure collections are completed efficiently.
Report vehicle defects, incidents or operational issues promptly.
Follow all relevant Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
