Salary: £150 - £230 per day (MPS/UPS Equivalent)

Role Overview

Bring storytelling, poetry, and analytical writing to life for secondary pupils in

Basildon. We are recruiting a passionate

English Teacher to join a supportive department. You will plan and deliver dynamic English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils build confident communication skills and achieve strong GCSE outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach engaging English Language and Literature modules across KS3 and KS4.

Foster critical thinking and source analysis skills through group discussions and written tasks.

Track pupil progress and prepare Year 11 pupils for upcoming GCSE assessments.

Contribute to department planning and literacy initiatives across the school.

Requirements:

UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with an English focus.

Proven track record teaching secondary English.

Strong classroom management paired with an encouraging teaching style.
