Shifts: Alternating weekly early and late shifts
Concept Resources are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic to work as part of a busy local authority fleet maintenance team covering Bromsgrove and Redditch.
The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled team delivering an extensive programme of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections and examinations across the Council's vehicle fleet.
This role requires a strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance and the standards required to ensure vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and compliant with relevant legislation, DVSA requirements and Operator Licence obligations.
Duties
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on HGVs and other fleet vehicles
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
Completing vehicle repairs to a high standard
Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Undertaking vehicle inspections and examinations
Preparing vehicles to meet required roadworthiness standards
Identifying defects and completing appropriate repairs
Ensuring vehicles comply with statutory legislation
Working in accordance with DVSA requirements
Supporting compliance with the Council's Operator Licence
Maintaining accurate records of inspections, maintenance and repairs
Ensuring work is completed in accordance with Council policies and procedures
Working effectively as part of the wider workshop and fleet maintenance team
