Summary

    Week 1: 7:00am – 3:15pm

    Week 2: 12:00pm – 8:15pm

At Sodexo, you'll be part of a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality operation serving approximately 1,500 staff every day. You'll work alongside 4–5 other Kitchen Porters on the pot-wash line, keeping dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment moving through the wash-up operation, clearing food waste and keeping the area clean, safe and organised.

With multiple food service areas operating throughout the day, there is a constant flow of equipment, crockery and food waste, particularly during busy breakfast and lunch services. You'll need to be comfortable working at pace and able to keep up with a busy, high-volume kitchen environment, particularly during breakfast and lunch service, ensuring the kitchen team always has the clean equipment they need to keep service running smoothly.

All food is prepared and cooked fresh onsite, supporting a large culinary team across salad, poke bowl, soup, hot food, street food, pizza and carvery stations. Communication, teamwork and the ability to respond quickly when the pressure increases are key to succeeding in this role.

What you'll do

  • Work as part of a team of 4–5 Kitchen Porters on a busy pot-wash line
  • Clean dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils and other kitchen equipment
  • Keep the pot-wash operation moving efficiently during busy service
  • Clear food bins and manage kitchen waste throughout the day
  • Keep the pot-wash area clean, tidy and safe
  • Clean kitchen equipment, floors, production areas and other back-of-house areas
  • Support the kitchen team before, during and after service
  • Work quickly and efficiently during high-volume breakfast and lunch services
  • Support with the smooth running of the kitchen during busy periods
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required
  • Follow cleaning schedules and maintain required records
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, allergen, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
  • Identify hazards and report any damaged or faulty equipment
  • Maintain a professional standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
  • Support colleagues and move between areas when required
  • Attend required training, meetings and team briefings
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management

What you'll bring

  • Previous kitchen, catering, hospitality or high-volume service experience would be beneficial
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a large kitchen team
  • Good understanding of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety
  • Good allergen awareness and understanding of the importance of preventing cross-contamination
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise
  • Ability to remain calm and productive under pressure
  • Flexibility to support different areas when required
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid and physically demanding kitchen environment
  • A positive, reliable and professional attitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop
