Location: Any North Bank TEC Partnership Site

TEC Partnership is made up of four colleges, two training providers, a 14-16 provision and a nursery, stretching from Scarborough to Skegness with a Nottingham based campus also.

At TEC Partnership we offer high‑quality education, innovative training, and life‑changing opportunities to thousands of students each year. Our student support staff are passionate about making a real difference to our learner's potential and helping them to thrive in their next steps. We are now looking for someone who shares that commitment to join us in the role of Safeguarding Officer – Care-Experienced Learners.

About the role

TEC Partnership are looking for a Designated Teacher to join the safeguarding team. The role will provide a consistent point of contact for learners with care experience and, where relevant, other learners who need coordinated support. The role helps the college recognise barriers to learning early, respond appropriately and make sure these learners can access education, pastoral support and progression opportunities on an equal basis with their peers.

As our Designated Teacher, you'll be a champion for learners with care experience and those facing additional challenges. You'll help identify support needs, promote high aspirations, monitor learner wellbeing and progress, and ensure learners receive the right support at the right time. Working closely with colleagues, families and external agencies, you'll play a key role in helping learners thrive and successfully transition into their next steps. This role requires travel between sites and local authorities, so a full clean driving licence is essential.

About the person

We are seeking a committed and compassionate professional to support care-experienced and vulnerable learners across our college. This is a key role for someone who can build trusted relationships, work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, and help learners overcome barriers so they can thrive in further education. Experience supporting young people or vulnerable learners, ideally in further education or safeguarding is essential.

We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of safeguarding and the needs of care-experienced learners, who can build positive relationships and work effectively with learners, colleagues and external partners. You'll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills, able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, compassion and resilience. Above all, you'll be committed to inclusion, equality and helping every learner achieve success.

You will hold a recognised safeguarding, youth work, learner support or related qualification, along with GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications).
