Summary
About the role
As Lead Fulfilment Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimising strategic fulfilment initiatives and transformation programmes in alignment with Tesco’s strategic goals and the delivery of LTP commitments. You’ll work across Business functions, Technology teams and external partners to deliver customer-focused outcomes. Leading a team of Operating Model Managers, providing direction and leadership across operating model design, programme delivery and fulfilment strategy to support the future evolution of Tesco’s fulfilment capabilities.
You will be responsible for
• Defining and delivering operating models that support Tesco’s strategic ambitions, ensuring solutions are scalable and customer-focused.
• Leading complex cross-functional programmes from concept through to implementation, delivering agreed business outcomes.
• Aligning business leaders on strategic direction, key decisions and operating model recommendations.
• Managing strategic partnerships with suppliers, technology partners and 3PLs to support programme objectives.
• Providing strategic thought leadership within Fulfilment, identifying opportunities to serve new customer missions and support future growth.
• Leading and motivating project teams and subject matter experts, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Establishing and maintaining effective governance, including the management of risks, issues, dependencies and key decisions.
• Developing robust business cases and investment recommendations to support strategic decision-making and secure stakeholder alignment.
• Forecasting and managing budgets effectively, maintaining a cost-conscious approach to ensure return on investment.
• Navigating interdependencies and potential conflicts, working collaboratively to achieve objectives and deliver value to customers, colleagues, and the planet.
You will need
• Experience in strategy, consulting, finance, business planning or a similar role.
• Experience managing complex programmes end-to-end.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills, including creating materials for business leadership.
• Experience managing priorities across multiple teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Understanding of retail and ecommerce operating models.
• Experience of building and developing operating models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with fulfilment automation and / or 3PL operations is a bonus.
• Line Management experience.
