• Salary: £26,703- £29,058 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

• Actual Salary: £21,915 - £23,848 per annum

We are looking for a proactive, compassionate and student-centred Student Support Advisor to provide pastoral, progression and engagement support to students studying higher education, higher technical and relevant apprenticeship programmes. You will play a key role in helping students and apprentices engage, continue, achieve and progress by monitoring attendance, engagement and wellbeing indicators, coordinating timely interventions and connecting learners with the right academic, wellbeing, careers and financial support.

You will provide individualised support through progress reviews and 1:1 tutorials, act as a key point of contact for advice and guidance, deliver relevant in-class support sessions and help students plan their next steps into further study, employment, graduate opportunities and professional development. Working collaboratively with curriculum and apprenticeship teams, professional services, employers and external partners, you will contribute to a culture of high expectations, excellent student experience, robust tracking and early intervention.

We are seeking someone with experience of working with learners aged 18+ or adults in an educational, higher education, apprenticeship, student support, youth work or community setting. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, a calm and methodical approach, and the confidence to deliver tutorial sessions. Knowledge of higher education, higher technical or apprenticeship pathways and experience supporting learners with complex pastoral, wellbeing, engagement or progression needs would be highly desirable. A relevant qualification in information, advice and guidance, youth work or a related field, and/or a degree or equivalent, would also be welcomed.
