Are you an early-career Materials Engineer or Scientist ready to lead cutting-edge UK defence innovation?
The University of Sheffield is seeking a DMEx Innovation Fellow (Grade 8, full-time) to drive research funded by the Defence Materials Centre of Excellence.
The Role
As a central research hub, you will connect academics, Government scientists, and industry partners to advance Materials 4.0, Digital Twinning, and Passporting. Focusing on metallic components for the Air Domain, your work will directly enhance sovereign UK capability across key strategic themes:
● Weight and cost reduction
● Reach and persistence
● Mission survivability
● Transformative asset management
Who We Are Looking For
● PhD (or equivalent) in Materials Engineering or a related field.
● Applied expertise in metallic aerospace materials and Materials 4.0.
● Strong potential to build collaborative research links across academia and industry.
● UK National (required for security screening).
