As a Band 7 Head and Neck and Thyroid Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will provide expert clinical care, guidance, and support throughout the patient pathway, ensuring patients and their families receive compassionate, personalised care at every stage of their journey.

Through advanced clinical practice, leadership, education, and service development, you will contribute to the Trust's strategic objectives of delivering safe, effective, and high-quality care.
The role also provides professional leadership, supervision, and development support to Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialists and other members of the wider team, fostering a culture of learning, excellence, and continuous improvement.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding patient care and improving outcomes for patients with head and neck and thyroid conditions. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Significant post-registration experience within Head and Neck Cancer, Thyroid, Oncology, Surgical or related specialist services, with evidence of autonomous clinical decision-making and advanced assessment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide complex information and emotional support to patients and families, while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Leadership experience, including the ability to supervise, support and develop junior colleagues, and contribute to service improvement, education and quality initiatives.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care, with the ability to manage a complex caseload and coordinate services across the patient pathway.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Attendance at Tuesday clinics is essential. Current NMC registration is required.
