Summary
Occupational Health Technician
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £26,000-£27,000 per annum
Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
We are looking for a proactive and confident Occupational Health Technician to join a multidisciplinary occupational health team at a client site in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a healthcare, fitness, emergency care or military background who is looking to develop their career within occupational health.
The Role
You will support the delivery of occupational health services by carrying out a range of health surveillance and screening activities, including:
• Height, weight and blood pressure checks
• Urinalysis and baseline health screening
• Audiometry and lung function testing
• Drug and alcohol testing, including chain of custody procedures
• Accurate recording of clinical information for review by Occupational Health Nurses and other clinical staff
• Maintaining, cleaning and checking occupational health equipment
• Monitoring equipment calibration and performance, including vaccination fridge temperatures
• Supporting health promotion and wellbeing activities
• Completing general administrative and non-clinical duties
• Working within agreed protocols, recognising the limits of your role and escalating clinical queries appropriately
• You will work closely with the wider occupational health team while managing your own workload and maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
