This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
HGV Technician to join a modern commercial vehicle operation in Sheffield, working a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern with
no night shifts and optional overtime available.
The Role
As an
HGV Technician, you will be responsible for keeping a modern commercial vehicle fleet maintained, safe and roadworthy.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Completing inspections, preventative maintenance and repair work to a high standard.
• Carrying out DVSA and manufacturer-related inspections and ensuring vehicles meet required standards.
• Repairing or replacing components and carrying out fault-finding to identify issues efficiently.
• Completing job cards and maintenance records accurately while following health and safety procedures.
You will play an important role as an
HGV Technician, helping to maintain vehicle availability and minimise downtime.
About You
The ideal
HGV Technician will have:
• Previous experience working as an
HGV Technician or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, with experience using modern workshop equipment.
• A Level 3 HGV qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous.
• A reliable, practical and safety-focused approach with good attention to detail.
You should be comfortable working independently as an
HGV Technician while also contributing effectively as part of a professional workshop team.
