Do you wish to make a genuine difference to the lives of veterans who are taking their next steps towards recovery? Do you believe that recovery is built through relationships, connection and hope?
We are looking for a self-motivated person to join our Adult Recovery Team to work alongside veterans facing substance misuse, poor mental health, PTSD and other complex challenges; helping them navigate support, rebuild confidence and move towards the life they want.
One day you might be visiting a prison, hospital or community venue, the next facilitating a peer support group or working with partner agencies to help a veteran access housing, treatment or wider support.
This role is based in Norwich but the ability to travel throughout Norfolk and Suffolk is essential. Having a Forces background is an advantage.
You will also play a key role in building our veteran peer network, recruiting, training and supporting volunteers with lived experience to walk alongside others on their recovery journey.
We would like to hear from you if you:
• can build trust and relationships easily;
• believe in people's ability to change and grow;
• have experience supporting people with complex needs;
• can work independently while being part of a collaborative team; and
• are passionate about improving outcomes for veterans and their families.
In return, you will be part of a value-driven organisation where compassion, lived experience and person-centred support sit at the heart of what we do; giving hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those with lived experience (not currently in treatment). You will be required to complete an enhanced DBS process before starting. We may also require you to have a Criminal Justice vetting for work within prisons.
