Summary

Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) the postholder will: Work as part of the ADAPT multi-disciplinary team (MDT) Use technical, creative and psychosocial skills to deliver occupational therapy intervention to assist in the provision of a flexible, service user centred programme of therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of service users who experience mental health difficulties. Have an awareness of social inclusion and skills development and ensure activities used focus on these objectives Work autonomously under the guidance of the ward occupational therapists and physiotherapists to implement treatment for service users with mental health issues impacting upon function. This will entail both group and 1-1 work. Provide treatment in accordance with individualised care plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist Support service users to undertake daily activities that are designed to support recovery and independence as directed by the occupational therapist or physiotherapist. Attend and contribute to staff and team meetings as required Report any safety or security concerns in order to maintain the safety of service users, staff and others. Take part in regular supervision and appraisal and attend and participate in mandatory courses and training as indicated. Participate in the process of multi disciplinary working by exchanging appropriate information with service users, staff, carers and others maintaining adherence to data protection guidance and confidentiality at all times.
