Summary
A kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant is required to support a happy and sociable six-year-old autistic boy who lives in the Falmouth area.
Applications from self-employed Personal Assistants are preferred; however, employed Personal Assistants may also be considered for the right candidate.
The role involves providing 1:1 support both at home and in the community, helping him access activities he enjoys, build his confidence and independence, and develop important social, communication and independence skills. This may include supporting him with listening to and following instructions, engaging positively with others, and navigating social situations.
He enjoys exploring the world around him and would benefit from support to access community activities and experiences. He has a special interest in buses and loves going on bus rides.
The successful applicant will be able to build a positive and trusting relationship with him, understand his individual needs, and provide encouragement and support in a fun and engaging way.

Rate of pay: £16.50 per hour for self-employed Personal Assistants (preferred). Self-employed PAs will be responsible for their own tax affairs and insurance arrangements.
While a self-employed arrangement is preferred, applications from employed Personal Assistants will also be considered at £13.45 per hour.
Hours: 8 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to suit the successful candidate's availability. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
