Summary
The Salaried GP will provide high quality, patient centred clinical care within the practice, holding responsibility for a defined personal patient list and contributing to the wider clinical team. The postholder will work autonomously, exercising independent clinical judgement while adhering to practice policies, GMC standards, and national guidance. Key Responsibilities Personal Patient List Management Provide continuity of care for an allocated personal list of patients. Undertake proactive management of longterm conditions, medication reviews, and followup of ongoing clinical issues. Maintain oversight of patient needs, ensuring timely intervention and safe clinical decisionmaking. Clinical Autonomy & Decision Making Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute, chronic, and complex conditions. Initiate appropriate investigations, referrals, and treatment plans. Exercise professional judgement and accountability in all clinical encounters. Blood Test Result Handling Review, interpret, and action pathology results in a timely and safe manner. Communicate results to patients, arrange followup tests, and ensure appropriate clinical escalation where required. Docman & Clinical Correspondence Process incoming clinical correspondence, including hospital letters, discharge summaries, and tasks. Ensure actions are completed accurately, promptly, and in line with practice protocols. Consultations & Clinical Delivery Provide facetoface, telephone, and digital consultations. Deliver evidencebased care, including preventative health advice, chronic disease management, and acute presentations. Maintain highquality clinical documentation in accordance with GMC and practice standards. Team Working & Practice Contribution Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, HCAs, reception, and administrative staff. Participate in clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and case reviews. Support practice quality improvement, audits, QOF delivery, and service development initiatives. Governance & Compliance Adhere to practice policies, safeguarding requirements, infection control standards, and information governance protocols. Contribute to a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement. Professional Requirements GMC registered medical practitioner with licence to practise.
