About the role
We're looking for a caring, proactive
Support Worker to join our established team supporting a gentleman in his own supported living home in Eastleigh.
He has autism and learning disabilities and communicates without words, so getting to know him, understanding how he communicates and building a trusting relationship will be an important part of your role.
He loves being out and about, particularly
long walks, meals out, bowling and exploring the local area. If you enjoy being active and want a role where you can make a meaningful difference to someone's everyday life, this could be a great fit for you.
Your role will include:
- Supporting with meal preparation, shopping and household tasks
- Providing personal care
- Supporting with medication
- Encouraging and supporting activities he enjoys
- Helping him maintain his independence and make choices
- Taking a proactive and creative approach to his support
- Providing
1:1 support, which will include lone working
About you
You'll be someone who is
patient, attentive and confident working independently, with a genuine commitment to person-centred support.
You'll enjoy being active, be comfortable taking initiative and understand the importance of consistency when building a trusting relationship with someone who communicates without words.
