Introduction:

A family in Pembrokeshire are seeking a personal assistant to provide care to a young lady with a diagnosis of Rett’s Syndrome. Knowledge of Rett’s Syndrome and the effect this has on the individual is advantageous, however training will be provided. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently.

The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client.

The main duties to be included within this role are:

• Support with showering and changing

• Support with any personal care tasks required

• Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours

• To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours

• Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority

• Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance
