Are you an adaptable
SEN Teacher who is confident teaching across a range of subjects and supporting pupils with varied additional needs?
TeacherActive is working with specialist schools and alternative provisions in
Loughborough that are looking for a strong
all-round SEN Teacher. This role would suit someone who is comfortable teaching across the curriculum rather than specialising in just one subject.
You’ll be supporting pupils who may have needs including
ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and complex learning needs, with some learners working below age-related expectations.
The role may include:
• Teaching a range of subjects across the curriculum
• Planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons
• Adapting learning to individual needs and ability levels
• Supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
• Delivering Functional Skills or Entry Level work where required
• Creating a calm, structured and positive classroom environment
• Tracking progress and providing clear feedback
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams
• Helping pupils build confidence and re-engage with education
We are looking for:
• QTS or a recognised teaching qualification
• Experience working with SEND pupils
• Confidence teaching across multiple subjects
• Strong classroom and behaviour management
• SEN, SEMH or alternative provision experience desirable
• A patient, resilient and flexible approach
• Ability to adapt teaching for a wide range of abilities
• Someone who is comfortable thinking on their feet
