The role sits within Evidence Services, part of Digital, Data and Evidence.
Evidence Services provides expert evidence, analysis and technical services that help the Environment Agency make informed decisions for people, places and the environment.
As a Fluvial Advisor working in Evidence Services, you’ll be responsible for analysing, reviewing and assuring flood risk evidence, applying technical judgement to support high-quality services across Digital, Data and Evidence.

You will:
Analyse, review and assure the hydraulic and hydrological model evidence that underpins a range of flood risk reduction schemes, national infrastructure and sustainable development.
Contribute to centres of excellence for modelling, sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of colleagues while continuing your own development.
Communicate complex flood risk analyses and uncertainty to internal and external stakeholders.
Advise on appropriate tools and techniques for hydrological and hydraulic modelling approaches.
Promote inclusion by understanding and respecting differences in our workforce.
Develop and be an active part of a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture.
Foster innovation to become more efficient and sustainable.
The team
Evidence Services sits within Digital, Data and Evidence in Flood and Coastal Risk Management. We have an inclusive team culture which allows everyone to be their authentic selves.
We provide expertise in coastal and fluvial flood risk modelling and hydrology, supporting work including land use planning submission reviews, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, Flood and Coastal Risk Management schemes, flood mapping, and asset management. You will work with agility across these strands of work.
