Summary

No WoofWalk walker is listed in Leicester yet. We want five to start, spread between the city and the Bradgate and Watermead side.

WoofWalk is a UK app that dog owners use to book a walker. You work for yourself on it: your own prices, your own availability, your own decision on every booking. Owners find you in the app, book and pay through it, and the money goes to you. We do not employ you, there is no wage, and there is no guaranteed income.

If you have never done it, the set-up guide takes you through a profile owners will book, what to charge, what to agree with an owner at the first meeting, keys and leads and routes, and what to do when a dog is off colour or the weather turns.

Leicester rates on public sitter sites: half-hour walks £8 to £22, around £16 typically; home visits about £15; home boarding around £31 a night. We do not set your price.

Abbey Park, Braunstone Park, Victoria Park and Watermead Country Park are the usual grounds, with Bradgate Park for longer walks. The city's dog control order lets officers require leads, so expect to carry one.

Terms: free to join. Nothing for the first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, and 10% for life once five clients have joined through you. Your tax, National Insurance and insurance are your own affair.
