Summary

We are working on behalf of a reputable accident repair centre in Plymouth to appoint a skilled Bodyshop Workshop Controller. The successful Bodyshop Workshop Controller will lead workshop operations, coordinate repair processes, and ensure high standards of quality and efficiency. Duties:

- Oversee and coordinate all repair processes from initial strip-down to final quality check, maintaining full visibility of each job

- Allocate work efficiently based on technician skills, workloads, and job priorities to optimise productivity

- Conduct daily production meetings to review progress, resolve delays, and address issues promptly

- Ensure all repairs adhere to manufacturer repair methods and industry standards

- Monitor workflow and resolve technical or resource-related issues swiftly

- Maintain accurate repair documentation and job records

- Support and develop workshop staff and apprentices, fostering a team environment focused on continuous improvement

- Uphold health, safety, and environmental compliance within the workshop

- Regularly inspect and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and machinery

- Undertake additional tasks as directed by senior management to support operational excellence

Requirements:

- Proven experience in workshop management within an accident repair centre or automotive environment

- Strong knowledge of repair processes and manufacturer repair methods

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow efficiently

- Experience supervising and developing workshop staff, including apprentices

- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to resolve operational issues swiftly and effectively

- Desirable: experience with workshop management software
