Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
For November 2026 we are looking for a P.E. Coach to work within our well-established P.E. team. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic member of staff to lead P.E. lessons alongside our existing P.E. team, and also to work with groups of children in class. This role is a temporary maternity contract until July 2027.
We need a PE Coach who:
• Has a coaching qualification to at least Level 2
• Is able to model and show consistently outstanding teaching and learning skills within PE
• Can demonstrate a good understanding of the P.E. curriculum and apply this practically to deliver engaging lessons
• Has the ability to create opportunities for children to learn, collaborate and compete through P.E.
• Can work collaboratively with our existing P.E. team and take on board ongoing training and feedback
• Will promote physical activity more widely running lunchtime and after school activities
• Has the ability to work with a wide range of staff and pupils throughout the school, developing productive and positive relationships with them
• Is confident supporting pupils in class during other curriculum lessons

What the school offers its staff
We have a well-established and highly qualified P.E. team already in place. P.E. has a high profile in the life of the school, and we encourage sports before school, at lunchtime and after school. Our TTLT Sports Hub means our children get access to regular inter- and intra-competitions, and our whole school Carnival (March) and Sports Day (July) are hugely popular events for our entire school community. Working at Curwen Primary School, the postholder will be part of a team that has shared aims and common philosophy as expressed in the school’s policies and procedures. The postholder will teach PE to children across the school, and provide adult support for pupils in class at other points within the school day.
