We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join a long-term social housing maintenance programme, delivered on behalf of the local council. In this role, you'll carry out a range of electrical repairs and installations across council-owned properties, helping ensure safe, reliable, and well-maintained homes for residents.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations in occupied and void social housing properties.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in domestic environments while ensuring safety compliance.
- Installing and maintaining lighting, sockets, switches, consumer units, and other domestic electrical components.
- Conducting periodic inspections and testing (including EICRs) in line with current regulations.
- Ensuring all work complies with BS 7671 and relevant health and safety requirements.
- Completing job sheets, certificates, and compliance documentation accurately.
- Liaising with tenants, site managers, and other trades to support smooth service delivery.
- Responding to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs when required.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and the company vehicle to a high standard.
- Following company procedures and delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing)
- AM2
- JIB Gold Card (or working towards it)
- Basic DBS Check
