Summary
We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Woodlands Nursing Home.
Woodlands Nursing Home is situated within a residential area of Ripley and provides care and nursing support to older adults and individuals living with dementia.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work alongside our cooks to help with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-presented food.
This is a varied role, and morning shifts will include preparing and cooking breakfast, providing an opportunity to take an active role in the kitchen from the start of the day.
Position Details:
• Rate of Pay: £12.80 per hour
• Hours: 2 days per week
• Shift Times: 07:00-18:30
• Schedule: Rota basis which includes weekends and bank holidays
• Location: Butterley Hill, Ripley DE5 3LW (Please consider travel times, including on weekends, before applying)
We are looking for an individual who is caring, friendly and able to communicate with people at all levels. Previous experience of food preparation and kitchen support duties is required.
Key Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Assistant, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, taking into account residents’ dietary requirements and preferences.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining area, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and well maintained.
• Maintaining accurate records relating to food supplies, temperatures and kitchen schedules.
• Ensuring statutory Health and Safety standards are maintained
• Working as part of the wider team to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.
