Do you have experience supporting children with Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs?
Are you confident managing challenging behaviour while creating a positive and engaging learning environment?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Primary-aged Pupil Referral Unit / PRU in Newport that supports children with a range of additional learning needs. The provision works with pupils with Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, providing an environment where pupils can access education with appropriate behavioural and emotional support.
The PRU is looking to take on an experienced ALN Behaviour Teacher on a temporary, full-time basis, starting ASAP. The successful ALN Behaviour Teacher will work with Primary-aged pupils, delivering engaging lessons while providing consistent behaviour management and adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD and SEMH.
The successful ALN Behaviour Teacher will have:
• QTS or recognised equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching or supporting Primary-aged pupils with ALN
• Experience working with children with ASD and SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
