Casual Leisure Attendant

Band 3 £13.95 per hour

 

Are you ready for an exciting new challenge?

                                                                                       

We require motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to work as part of our team.  You will work on a Casual basis, as and when required, to cover annual leave and sickness. This could be your first step into a career in leisure.

 

Duties will include ensuring customer safety at all times, communicating effectively with members of the public and other staff, undertaking cleaning duties and setting up and dismantling of sports equipment in a safe environment and lifeguarding (where applicable).

 

You will be based at DG1.  The leisure centre has 3 swimming pools and a health suite with sauna and steam room. A 6-court sports hall hosting a range of sports and activities, a large fitness suite, 2 fitness studios and a smaller class studio.

 

You will assist in actively promoting DG1 and Leisure and Sport activities at all times.

 

You must have an RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or be working towards gaining a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.  Experience of working with the general public and customer care is essential.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

 

You will be required to attend regular staff training sessions as part of the requirement of this post.  This post will include shift work including evenings and weekends.
