To apply please email your CV together with reference KM/SF-26 to parSL@gcil.org.uk.

Kenny is cheerful, determined and well organised. With the right support and tools, he enjoys making his own choices and living life to the fullest. He likes spending time with family and friends, being with his two cats and dog, and visiting Stirling, Falkirk and the Renfrew area. He is particularly passionate about football and attending matches. He also loves music, going to gigs and attending Club Late. Kenny is looking for a personal assistant who can support him to enjoy the activities and relationships that matter to him.

A typical day with Kenny might include swimming, shopping, enjoying a day trip to a place of interest or relaxing in his hot tub. He also enjoys volunteering with charities. You will help Kenny plan and take part in these activities safely, confidently and in the way he chooses.

You will support Kenny with personal care, including showering and toileting, as well as preparing meals and snacks. Kenny uses a wheelchair, so you will need to push it when you are out and about together. You will also drive his mobility car to help him attend appointments, activities and social outings.

Kenny would like to work with someone who is respectful, honest, dependable and fun, with a good sense of humour. You should be comfortable supporting him with personal care and community activities while respecting his choices, privacy and independence. An interest in football and live music would be a welcome bonus.

Location: Kenny lives in Larkhall, so you must be comfortable working in and travelling around this area.

Hours: 10 hours per week with occasional weekend support. Some flexibility will be needed to fit around Kenny’s activities and plans.

Rate: £14.45 per hour

Requirements: A full driving licence is required as the role includes driving Kenny’s mobility car. Previous care or personal-assistance experience would be helpful, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are most important.

This is a varied, person-centred role for someone who can combine practical support with companionship and help Kenny stay active and connected in his community.

Think you would be a great match? Get in touch today to find out more about supporting Kenny to live life his way.
