Summary

The Wellbeing Adviser will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of the college's commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for all employees and students. This role is vital in promoting a culture where health and wellbeing are prioritised, enabling students and staff to thrive.

This new role will sit within our Welfare and Wellbeing team, supporting both student and staff wellbeing and welfare. The role will include triaging needs, developing resources, training internally and external links that will support wellbeing.

The postholder will support the strategic direction for staff and student wellbeing and ensure it is embedded into the organisational culture.

The role will work with staff, students, managers and external providers of support.

**This role will involve working across our five colleges. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement wellbeing initiatives for staff and students across our campuses. **

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Employee Wellbeing Programme Management and Delivery

● Promote access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and confidential counselling and other employee support services.

● Support the development and implementation of an Employee Wellbeing and Mental Health Triage Referral System to support staff in need.

● Work closely with the People Services team and line managers to understand emerging wellbeing trends and concerns and deliver awareness sessions to support employees.

● Organise and deliver workshops and training to support employee resilience and wellbeing. For example, mental health awareness.

● Develop and deliver regular wellbeing communications and an annual wellbeing plan, including financial wellbeing resources.

2. Wellbeing Advisory and Casework Support

● Support college staff to provide guidance and support for students and staff

● Support the People Services Business Partners to provide guidance and support for staff wellbeing issues and absence cases

● Work with People Services and Welfare teams to review student and staff data to identify wellbeing initiatives across the Group

● Deliver a programme of key wellbeing and welfare initiatives, relevant to students and staff across the year at all Colleges

● Liaise with and develop partnerships with external partners to support welfare and wellbeing.

● Support the enhanced staff and student engagement programmes by helping to conduct regular employee surveys and Pulse surveys to inform wellbeing initiatives.

3. Statutory and College Compliance

● Ensure wellbeing practices support the college’s safeguarding culture and obligations.

● Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with.

● Ensure a safe working environment for colleagues, students, and visitors in line with the HASAW Act and the College Health and Safety Policy.

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential

● Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths Grade C or above

● Qualifications and experience relevant to the role, in a wellbeing or welfare specialism

● Experience of working in a student or employee welfare or wellbeing role, providing advice and guidance to individuals across a range of wellbeing issues

● Experience of gathering and analysing data to make recommendations to improve wellbeing or welfare support

● Experience of developing and maintaining links with external organisations to support wellbeing or welfare

● Experience of using a range of IT packages and systems. WCG is a Google based organisation.
