Summary

Your new company

Are you passionate about making a real difference in local communities? Birmingham City Council is looking for experienced Community Safety Intervention Officers to join its Community Safety Team, helping to tackle anti-social behaviour, support vulnerable residents, and create safer neighbourhoods across the city. The role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of community safety, managing complex ASB cases and delivering interventions that have a direct impact on local communities.

Your new role

As a Community Safety Intervention Officer, you will be responsible for investigating and managing anti-social behaviour cases, carrying out risk assessments, supporting victims, and working closely with partner agencies to identify long-term solutions. You will play a key role in safeguarding vulnerable individuals, developing partnership action plans, and ensuring cases are progressed in line with legislation and council policies.

The position also involves gathering evidence, preparing legal documentation, and supporting enforcement action through tools such as Community Protection Warnings (CPWs), Community Protection Notices (CPNs), Civil Injunctions, and other powers available under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. You may also be required to attend court proceedings and present evidence where necessary.

This is a full-time ongoing temporary position.

What you'll need to succeed

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in ASB enforcement, community safety, housing, neighbourhood management, environmental enforcement, policing, or other investigative and enforcement-based roles. Successful applicants will have strong communication skills, experience working with partner organisations, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive cases in a fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest local authorities and contribute to meaningful work that helps improve the lives of Birmingham residents every day. An Enhanced DBS check for Adults and Children will be required for this position.

What you'll get in return

In return, you'll receive an hourly rate of £20.86 per hour with the added benefit of weekly pay, providing consistency and flexibility throughout your assignment. This is a long-term temporary opportunity, offering stability while allowing you to gain valuable experience within one of the UK's largest local authorities.

You'll also have the opportunity to apply for permanent positions with Birmingham City Council as they become available, making this an excellent route into a long-term career within Community Safety and Local Government.
