Are you passionate about delivering secure, resilient communication platforms at enterprise scale?
Do you thrive on solving complex technical challenges while influencing strategic direction and driving innovation?
If so come and join us as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
You will play a leading role in the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of DWP's enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms. Your expertise will help ensure secure, reliable, and high performing communication services that enable colleagues across the organisation to connect, collaborate, and deliver critical services to millions of customers.

Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will influence key decisions, drive service improvements, and help deliver modern, scalable solutions that support DWP's digital ambitions.
We're looking for an experienced infrastructure professional with deep knowledge of enterprise messaging technologies, particularly Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365. You'll combine strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to delivering secure and effective collaboration services at scale.
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft Exchange Online, On Premises, and Hybrid environments, ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable messaging services.
- Design and deliver integrations between Exchange and enterprise systems using Microsoft Graph API, Exchange Web Services (EWS), REST APIs, and PowerShell automation.
- Develop and maintain automation, tooling, and reporting solutions to improve operational efficiency, service performance, and user experience.
- Act as the technical authority for Microsoft 365 messaging and compliance capabilities, including eDiscovery, retention policies, litigation hold, and information governance.
- Ensure messaging platforms remain secure, highly available, and compliant with organisational, regulatory, and legal requirements through effective security controls and resilience planning.
- Collaborate with technical, business, security, and legal stakeholders to shape messaging strategy and deliver solutions that meet organisational needs.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers, championing best practice, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Maintain architecture, operational, and service documentation, while proactively identifying opportunities to adopt emerging technologies and improve platform capabilities.
