Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) to join our department. In this critical role, you will support our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals attending the ward.

In this role you will gain valuable insight into working within an acute hospital environment and provide a strong foundation for a career in healthcare.

You will be required to be fully flexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays. 23 hours per week is the minimum for a part-time role.

 

To be eligible to apply:

Previous healthcare experience is not required, but enthusiasm and commitment to learn is essential.

Good academic qualifications are required for this role, the following are essential

· Maths: GCSEs Grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification

· English: GCSEs Grade C/4 or above OR Functional Skills Level 2.

· Level 3 qualification: Full NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent ‘A’ levels.

Progression to a registered nurse role will be through the apprenticeship route allowing you to continue to earn whilst you learn. You will be required to apply for these apprenticeships roles.

To be eligible to progress along the career pathway you must meet apprenticeship eligibility criteria related to residency and citizenship.

As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, supporting patients through their journey and helping to maintain a smooth and efficient service.

You will play a key role in ensuring that patients are treated with dignity and respect, all while being part of a close-knit and dedicated team.

Working Hours: 37.5hrs per week (full time) or 24hrs per week (part time)

You will be working on an inpatient ward, and you will be required to work long shifts (12hours) which include days/nights, weekend and Bank Holidays.

This is physically demanding role and you will be on your feet for long periods.

This is an emotionally demanding role and requires you to adapt quickly to the constantly changing clinical demands on an acute inpatient ward.
