Summary

If successful the next available cohort is planned for February 2027 but is subject to availability and timely/satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks.

Are you concerned about crime and anti-social behaviour? Do you want to do something about it?

As a PCSO, you will help to police and protect the quality of life in Nottinghamshire. Working alongside our regular police officers, you will have a key role in making local neighbourhoods safer and through your presence, help the community feel safer. Out on patrol, you will provide a visible reassurance to local people, deterring crime and anti-social behaviour. You will support and engage with local communities, helping to resolve local problems.

As a PCSO with Nottinghamshire Police you will complete your training in our brand new, state of the art Training Centre at our force headquarters, shared with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue. This is in a fantastic location next to Burntstump Country Park. Within our new building we  have a gym, sports hall hosting evening sports activities  and a subsidised canteen serving fresh hot and cold food daily.

Please be advised that, should you be successful and receive a place on one of our  cohorts, no leave is permitted during the first stage of your training. Once conditionally offered, if you have any pre-booked leave which cannot be rearranged, we may have to withdraw your application or move you back to a later cohort. If you have any queries around this, please contact the Recruitment Team via the email address below.

Nottinghamshire Police are  very proud to be able to offer excellent staff and officer wellbeing support including having an in-house Wellbeing Team and complementary counselling as part of our Employee Assistance Program. One of our priorities is to become an employer of choice.

Nottinghamshire Police is committed to the principles of Equality, Fairness and Diversity, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community in our efforts to recruit a diverse and flexible workforce that reflects the people we serve.

On successful completion of initial training roles will also include a shift/weekend working allowance of approx. 15.5% shift and 13.29% weekend. 37 hours per week, working various shifts Monday - Sunday (part time/flexible working applications will be considered). You will work rotating shifts after initial training (this includes weekends, nights and bank holidays with a shift pattern over 365/6 days a year)

To apply you must:

  • have had a minimum of three years continuous residency in the UK, with less than 12 months spend abroad in the last three years (with some exceptions for those living on a UK military base)
  • posses a Level 2 Qualification in Maths and English (equivalent to GCSE grade A-C or Level 4 or above)
  • have a full UK manual driving licence

You will receive an update on your application once the advert closes. Please check your email regularly for updates from us, including your junk mailbox.
