Summary

HGV Technician – Gloucester

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic to join an established workshop in Gloucester. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), have previous HGV or commercial vehicle experience and have the right to work in the UK. A Full UK Driving Licence and Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence are preferred but not essential.

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £17.00 - £18.33 per hour, with higher rates available subject to experience and qualifications

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, approximately 8:00am–5:00pm - Can be flexible

Overtime: Paid at 1.25x basic rate

HGV Technician Role

- Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults

- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections

- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and rectify defects

- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults

- Complete repairs to required workshop standards

- Maintain accurate job cards and workshop records

HGV Technician Requirements

- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent

- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician

- Strong mechanical, servicing and diagnostic skills

- Right to work in the UK

- Full UK Driving Licence preferred

- Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence preferred but not essential

- Ancillary equipment qualifications or experience would be advantageous
