Triumph Consultants are looking for a for an experienced HGV Technician to join their clients vehicle maintenance team in Solihull.
Contract is for 3 months in Solihull, B92 0LP. Temp to Perm opportunity
HGV Technician
Salary: £19.66 per hour
Hours: 45 hours per week
Location: Solihull, B92 0LP
Contract: 3 months - TEMP CONTRACT TO PERMANENT CONTRACT opportunity
Company Van: Provided
Overtime and out of hours work - paid at higher rate
As the HGV Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repair of HGVs, LGVs and trailers, both within the workshop and occasionally at off-site breakdowns.
Essential requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in HGV Motor Mechanics
Relevant HGV mechanical experience
Good understanding of safe working practices and Health & Safety
Your duties will include:
Trailer inspections and repairs
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fault finding on HGV/LGV units and trailers
Moffat inspections and repairs
Hydraulic repairs and maintenance across a range of units and trailers
Electrical fault finding and repairs
Working on bespoke “blower” trailers and associated blowing equipment
Fault finding and brake testing/braking systems
Pre-LOLER inspections of the fleet, where applicable
Welding and fabrication work
Attending occasional off-site breakdown.
Working Hours & Pay
The role is based on a 45-hour working week with an alternative shift pattern:
Week 1: 06:00 – 15:30
Week 2: 07:30 – 17:00
There will also be alternate Saturdays from 07:00 – 12:00, paid at higher rate.
Any of the following would be advantageous:
IRTE qualification
HGV licence
Auto Electrical qualification
Hydraulic qualification or relevant experience
Welding/fabrication experience
