SALARY: £31,828 to £32,364 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Bristol, South West England

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week, all year round

JOB OVERVIEW

An excellent opportunity is available for a Facilities Manager to take ownership of the safe and effective operation of a welcoming school environment, within a growing multi-academy trust.

Working closely with the Principal and wider team, the Facilities Manager will coordinate maintenance, contractors, cleaning, caretaking, compliance, lettings and site resources.

The Facilities Manager plays an important part in maintaining high standards of safety, security and upkeep while building positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and other stakeholders.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Facilities Manager include:

• Site Maintenance and Upkeep: Oversee day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and general upkeep, ensuring facilities remain safe, well maintained and fit for purpose

• Contractor and Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate contractors, cleaners and site staff, ensuring work meets agreed standards, timescales, policies and requirements

• Health and Safety Compliance: Manage compliance checks, inspections, risk assessments, maintenance schedules and records, escalating significant issues or risks appropriately

• Resources, Lettings and Budgets: Manage lettings, deliveries, stock, equipment, supplies and site-related budgets, ensuring resources are maintained, stored securely and used effectively

• Stakeholder and Safeguarding Support: Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and other stakeholders while supporting safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in facilities management or a similar role

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation

• Ability to assess and carry out minor repairs and maintenance

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to apply basic ICT skills to the needs of the job

• A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving

• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students
