JOB OVERVIEW

This is an opportunity to contribute to varied outdoor work across highways, utilities and commercial projects.

Working as an Arborist / Vegetation Operative offers a practical mix of vegetation clearance, tree surgery and ground-based activity, with safe working at the heart of each project.

The Arborist / Vegetation Operative will use tools and machinery including chainsaws, chippers and strimmers, supporting climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified.

As part of the Polegate team, the Arborist / Vegetation Operative will work independently and collaboratively to help deliver reliable, high-quality work.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Arborist / Vegetation Operative include:

• Tree Surgery and Vegetation Clearance: Carry out tree surgery, vegetation clearance and ground-based works

• Safe Working Practices: Follow site requirements and support safe working practices

• Tools and Machinery: Operate chainsaws, chippers, strimmers and other relevant equipment

• Climbing and Aerial Support: Assist with climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified

• Infrastructure Support: Contribute to works across highways, utilities and commercial projects

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Previous experience in arboriculture or de-vegetation

• CS30/31

• Chainsaw experience

• Industry-relevant tickets

• Full UK driving licence

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

• Reliable and punctual

DESIRABLE

• CS38/39 climbing and aerial rescue

• Utilities experience

• First Aid (Forestry)

• MEWP certification

• Chapter 8 signing, lighting and guarding

• CSCS card
