Summary
Key Responsibilities Independently manage a specialist caseload, undertaking comprehensive assessments and developing, implementing and reviewing individualised treatment plans. Deliver evidence-based interventions for individuals with complex neurological conditions, including aphasia, cognitive communication disorders, dysarthria, apraxia and dysphagia. Assess and manage eating, drinking and communication needs, ensuring recommendations are clearly communicated to patients, families, carers and the wider MDT. Take responsibility for the development and management of the Speech and Language Therapy service, identifying opportunities to improve clinical practice and service delivery. Work collaboratively within the MDT, providing specialist advice, guidance and training to colleagues to support holistic rehabilitation. Contribute to the development of clinical policies, guidelines and service improvements, ensuring practice remains evidence-based and in line with professional standards. Monitor clinical outcomes, participate in audits and maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
