Summary

EYFS/KS1 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual who thrives on making a real difference in a child's educational journey? We are seeking a passionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school. In this role, you will provide essential support to a student within the EYFS or KS1 stage, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs within an EYFS or KS1 classroom.

Implement tailored learning strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that supports the student's academic and social development.

Assist the student with classroom activities, helping them to engage fully with the curriculum.

Monitor and track the student's progress through detailed observations and feedback.

Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to support.

Adapt materials and teaching aids to meet the unique learning style and needs of the individual child.

Qualifications:

Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).

Proven experience working as a 1:1 support assistant, ideally within an EYFS or KS1 setting.

A strong understanding of SEN, including experience with specific learning difficulties or complex needs.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children.

A patient, proactive, and resilient approach to problem-solving.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
