Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking a Digital Data, Systems & Insights Officer to support the development, enhancement, and effective operation of the Group's digital systems, reporting tools, and data processes.
Working within the Information Development Team as part of the Management Information Systems (MIS) function, you will play a key role in ensuring our core systems and reporting solutions are reliable, efficient and aligned with the needs of both Group management and learners.
You will contribute to the development and maintenance of internal applications, scripts, and system integrations, helping to enhance existing platforms through troubleshooting, functionality improvements and the delivery of new features. You will support the design and optimisation of data flows across systems, undertake testing and quality assurance activities and maintain clear technical documentation to ensure robust and effective digital solutions across the Group.
A significant part of the role will involve developing and maintaining SQL queries, reports and data extracts, as well as supporting and enhancing MS Reporting services reports and Power BI dashboards. Working closely with senior developers, you will help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data, while supporting compliance with College policies and relevant regulatory requirements. You will also investigate data issues, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement effective solutions that drive better insight and decision-making across the Group.
As our Digital Data, Systems & Insights Officer, you will bring experience in supporting and maintaining relational databases, alongside strong technical expertise across a range of systems, software applications and digital platforms. You will be confident in writing and maintaining SQL queries, reports and data extracts, with proven experience of using data analysis tools to cleanse, manipulate, and interpret large or complex datasets. A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to data accuracy will be essential, particularly when supporting KPI reporting and business intelligence activities.
It would be helpful if you have some experience of Tribal EBS and AdvancedOne Pro products, including configuration areas such as business rules, workflows, data structures and process automation. Understanding or experience of full software development lifecycle, you will be capable of supporting application development from analysis and design through to implementation, testing and ongoing support. In addition, you will have hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, helping to drive data-led decision-making and continuous improvement across the Group.
Under Hybrid Working policy this role will be divided between home-based working and travel to and/or work from any of the South Thames Colleges Group sites.
