Synchronised Solutions is recruiting an experienced Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Veterinary Surgeon to join a modern and well-equipped small animal veterinary hospital in South Dublin.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon with a strong interest in emergency medicine, critical care and emergency surgery to join an expanding ECC service.

About the Veterinary Hospital
The hospital has recently expanded its services to provide Emergency and Critical Care out of hours, supported by upgraded facilities and an experienced clinical team.
The modern hospital environment provides facilities to support the investigation, treatment and ongoing management of emergency and critically ill patients.
The team works collaboratively across veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to provide high-quality emergency and inpatient care.
About the Role
As an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for the assessment, stabilisation, diagnosis and treatment of emergency and critically ill small animal patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients
Making confident, time-critical clinical decisions
Stabilising critically ill and injured patients
Developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans
Performing emergency procedures and surgery
Managing trauma cases
Performing emergency abdominal surgery, including GDV surgery and exploratory laparotomy
Performing soft-tissue emergency surgery
Managing cases involving foreign bodies and penetrating injuries
Performing procedures such as splenectomy where clinically indicated
Carrying out and interpreting blood work, imaging, urinalysis and other diagnostic investigations
Managing hospitalised and critically ill patients
Providing intensive fluid therapy and nutritional support
Managing anaesthesia and peri-operative care in emergency patients
Performing advanced catheter placement and emergency stabilisation procedures
Providing high-quality consultations and routine clinical care where required
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical records
Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients during emergency situations
Working closely with the ECC nursing and veterinary teams
Participating in effective case handovers and continuity of care
About You
We are looking for an experienced Emergency Veterinary Surgeon / ECC Veterinary Surgeon who is confident managing challenging cases and making clinical decisions under pressure.
Working Pattern
The position is primarily focused on night-time Emergency & Critical Care.
The team is open to discussing different working patterns, with full-time and part-time options available for the right candidate.
