Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthy Child Assistant. The post is based at Warsop PCC, team is Mansfield HFT to deliver universal health reviews and breast-feeding support and other duties as part of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme. Proven experience of working with children and families in some capacity is essential as a major part of this role will involve lone working with parents and their children when completing development reviews. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act on your own initiative but to be able to escalate any issues to the Specialist Public Health Practitioners who lead and manage the Healthy Families Team on a day to day basis. You will need to be flexible to meet the service needs of the children and their families, have good time management and IT skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as within a team. The team work closely with Partners to deliver high quality services to Children and Young people. Successful candidates should also be aware of Safeguarding policies and procedures. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
